The CLEP is a credit by examination test that measures mastery of college level material. Courses for which CLEP credit may be awarded, along with the qualifying scores, may be viewed at https://catalog.atu.edu/undergraduate/institutional-credit/clep/. No more than a total of 30 semester hours of correspondence, extension, military service, or credit by examination work may be applied as credit towards a degree.
The cost of the CLEP exam is $95, paid via an online account portal. Test takers who purchase their registration tickets on or after this date will be charged the new fee. Registration tickets purchased prior to this date will still be valid until their stated expiration dates.
An additional $30 fee is paid directly to ATU. The exam fee paid with debit/credit cards are paid directly through Testing Services in Doc Bryan, Suite 211. Cash payments will be accepted through the Office of Student Accounts in Brown Hall, Suite 241. Personal checks are not accepted.

Institutional Credit
Computer Science
Students with previous computer experience may petition the Department of computer
and Information Science for credit for COMS 1003 Introduction to Computer Based Systems.
Petitioners will be given written and/oral examinations by a computer science faculty

Engineering
Students who complete the appropriate Project Lead the Way (PLTW) course(s) with an
average of "B" or better and score 70% or higher score on the corresponding PLTW college
credit exam(s) may receive institutional credit for MCEG 1002, Engineering Graphics,
and/or MCEG/ELEG 1012, Introduction to Engineering.
