Primary health care is offered to students and employees on an outpatient basis. This includes the following:
Students and employees are seen by appointment and are screened and assessed by a health care provider. Students and employees may be treated by one of our advanced practice registered nurses including obtaining a prescription if appropriate or referral to a local health care provider if the nature of the visit requires such.
All students and ATU employees are eligible for health services. A portion of the general student fee (tuition) is set aside for student health services so there is no visit charge for students. Student accounts will be charged for labs and other services requiring a fee (see below). Employees seeking health services for acute illnesses and injuries will be subject to a charge of $25/visit and additional charges for any additional labs or other charged services. Lab charges for employees will be automatically charged to the employee account unless the employee requests to bill their lab to their insurance. No fees are collected at the time of service. More information can be gained by calling 479-968-0329. Details about employee health services charges will be provided at the time of the first appointment. All services with local health care providers or agencies outside of ATU are at the student or employee's own expense. The local hospital provides physician services on a 24-hour basis for emergencies.
