The Tech Fit Wellness/ Fitness Center houses one Matrix Circuit, an aerobic/weight training program. The circuit consists of a bicep curl, tricep extension, overhead press, leg press, leg extension, lat pulldown, abdominal, compound row, lower back, lateral raise, seated leg curl, hip abduction/adduction, rotary torso, rear delt/pec fly, and vertical chest..

The Tech Fit Wellness/Fitness Center is available to all currently enrolled ATU students, faculty and staff. Information regarding the Tech Fit Wellness Fitness Center may be secured by calling the Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science Department at (479) 968-0344.

Getting the most out of our facilities

Circuit Training

Circuit training is a mixture of weight training and cardio at the same time. Tech Fit has a matrix circuit which consists of the following:

  • Bicep Curl
  • Tricep Extension
  • Overhead press
  • Leg Press
  • Leg Extension
  • Lat Pulldown
  • Abdominal
  • Compound Row
  • Lower Back
  • Lateral Raise
  • Seated Leg Curl
  • Hip Abduction/Adduction
  • Rotary Torso
  • Rear Delt/Pec Fly
  • Vertical Chest.

Free Weights

Tech Fit has a number of free weights and machines. For example, bench press, dumb bells, and weight bars with attaching weights are available. On the walls, there are posters with exercises for different types of strength training from which people can get work-out ideas.

Cardio

Tech Fit has many cardio machines for exercise options. These include: treadmills, ellipticals, and stationary bicycles. There is also a track all the way around Tech Fit, and 20 laps = 1 mile. There are televisions to watch while exercising. The televisions have closed captioning and can be heard through an FM radio.

Abdominal Training

Tech Fit offers an incline sit-up bench, stability balls, medicine balls, and Bosu Balance trainers.

How to join Tech Fit

To join Tech Fit, bring your Tech ID with you to the facility. When it is scanned, your account will automatically be charged $25 dollars for the semester.

Bring your ID with you every time you come to work out.

Tech Fit Rules

 

  • Members must be current students, faculty, staff or the spouses of faculty and staff members of Arkansas Tech University.
  • You must have your student ID card.
  • Athletic shoes must be worn
  • Profane language is not allowed.
  • No food or drinks other than water are allowed.
  • Please be respectful of other members and the staff by:
    • Wipe off equipment when you sweat or get dirt on it.
    • Work out for a reasonable amount of time on the equipment.
    • Not bringing children or nonmembers with you.
  • If you do not know how to use the equipment or if the equipment is new, please ask for assistance.
