Arkansas Tech University will be hosting Virtual summer sessions for all Arkansas VRC Middle School and High students.
Registered ATU students who have successfully completed PLTW Introduction to Engineering Design (IED) will be given articulated credit for MCEG 1002 Engineering Graphics. Students who have successfully completed PLTW Principles of Engineering (POE) will be given articulated credit for MCEG 1011 Introduction to Mechanical Engineering. To receive articulated credit at no charge for the courses identified above, the students and the school at which they studied must satisfy the following criteria:
To receive credit for MCEG 1002, students must achieve each of the following:
a.) Course grade of at least 85% and
*b.) PLTW end of course Stanine score 6, 7, 8, or 9 OR PLTW raw score equivalent to a course Stanine score of 6, 7, 8, or 9 OR PLTW scale score of 350 or above.
To receive credit for MCEG 1011, students must achieve each of the following:
a.) Course grade of at least 85% and
*b.) PLTW end of course Stanine score of 6, 7, 8, OR 9 PLTW raw score equivalent to a course Stanine score of 6, 7, 8, or 9 OR PLTW scale score of 320 or above. (Course grades and end of course assessment scores must be supported by documentation from the high school or program agency.)
*COVID-19 Update: PLTW ceased administration of End-of-Course Assessments for the 2019-20 school year. This requirement is temporarily changed to a minimum score on an Arkansas Tech University Mechanical Engineering Department administered proficiency exam.
