Dr. Rene Couture

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Couture is the Director of the Masters in Higher Education & Student Affairs program and Department Head of the School of Professional and Community Education. He has been with the HESA program since 2012 after having worked in various student affairs roles at other institutions around the country. His research interests are centered on academic advising issues, first-generation students, and exploring differences among colleges and college students from varying geographical regions in the U.S. He holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership, an M.S. in Student Affairs Administration, and a B.A. in Psychology. Dr. Couture enjoys exploring local hiking trails and following his children's athletic adventures.
