Dr. Leanna Renfro
VISITING LECTURER OF MUSIC
BIOGRAPHY
Leanna Booze Renfro joined the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra as Principal Oboe in September 2013. She
was Principal Oboe with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra from 2007 to 2015. In
previous positions she has served as Adjunct Instructor of Oboe at Belmont University
in Nashville, Principal Oboe of the Kentucky Symphony and Lecturer in Oboe at the
University of Louisville’s School of Music.
A native of Kingsport, Tennessee, Leanna holds degrees from the University of Cincinnati
College-Conservatory of Music (D.M.A.), the San Francisco Conservatory (M.M.), and
Vanderbilt University (B.M.). Primary teachers have included Bobby Taylor, John de
Lancie, and Mark Ostoich. During the summer, she performs with the Peninsula Music
Festival in Door County, Wisconsin.
