To help make educational materials and practices inclusive and useful for all learners,
this interactive keynote radically reflects on how faculty members and course designers
can adopt Universal Design for Learning in order to create learning interactions that
provide students with more time for study and practice in their busy days: broaden
our focus away from learners with disabilities and toward a larger ease-of-use/general-inclusion
framework.

Whether you’re assigned to teach a class online at the last minute or just need to
quickly transition to online teaching because of a campus closure or personal situation,
there's no need to panic! New online classes do not need to have all the bells and
whistles of established online classes—they just need to follow some simple design
principles to help you and your students have the best experience possible on short
notice. We are offering a free Magna Online Seminar, "Help! I’m Moving My Course Online!"– Practical Advice for New Online Instructors, in which you’ll learn some basic ideas to consider to help you design a course that
is easy for your students to navigate. You and your students will make it through

Thurs. Aug. 20 - Going Virtual: Incorporating Assignments Into Your Active Learning Toolkit (iClicker webinar), 2:00 pm
Teaching and learning in 2020 have required a whole new level of flexibility. Enter
iClicker’s new Assignments feature, which engages students with pre-authored questions
that they work through on their own schedule. In this webinar, iClicker training specialist
Lindsey Thomas will explain how Assignments can be used for a wide range of teaching
scenarios: whether you’re delivering classes synchronously or asynchronously, online
or face-to-face, or whether you want to engage students before, during, or after class.
Lindsey will show you how to create questions, set up an Assignment in your iClicker
Cloud course, and track student progress. You’ll even have a chance to participate
using our iClicker Reef app to get a feel for the student experience. This will be
a great chance to ask any questions you might have about using iClicker in asynchronous
