PHI THETA KAPPA

Phi Theta Kappa ( or PTK) is an international honor society for two-year colleges and associate's degree-granting programs, like those offered at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus. Its mission statement is as follows:

"The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa shall be to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa shall provide opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence."

In 2013, Arkansas Tech-Ozark was granted charter for Phi Theta Kappa, designated the Beta Upsilon Pi chapter. To be invited to join Phi Theta Kappa, students must have completed 12 hours of coursework at Arkansas Tech-Ozark and have a minimum grade-point-average (GPA) of 3.5. Registration is online, and there is a $75 membership fee.

This student organization offers several scholarship opportunities and chances to serve the community. Also, it looks great on a resume!
