The mission of the Green & Gold Excel: Peer Mentor Program (GGE) is to facilitate a unique connection between newly enrolled students and a positive, influential Green & Gold Peer Mentor (PM) on the Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus. The GGE will focus on the development of academic and personal growth and the competencies important to a first-year student’s success.

Role of a peer mentorGreen & Gold Excel Peer Mentors (PM) are responsible for mentoring a small group of
students (Mentees) through meaningful conversations and unique experiences. PMs are
expected to be a resource to their Mentees by, but not limited to, providing information
about the campus/resources, sharing their experiences as a first-year student, meeting
with Mentees (1:1 & as a group), answering general questions, and attending planned
trainings and events.

Role of a MenteeGreen & Gold Excel Mentees are newly enrolled students, including but not limited
to, conditionally admitted students, first-generation students, transfer students,
and/or a student wishing for additional guidance and support. Mentees are expected
to actively communicate and meet with their Peer Mentor, attend and participate in
planned events and workshops, and positively engage with the resources available on
campus.
