The Certificate of Proficiency in Nursing Assistant is a course of study that prepares students for the certification examination required to work in the nursing assistant field. Healthcare facilities, particularly nursing homes, require more trained Certified Nurses Assistants to cope with the increases in patients served.
The course covers the fundamental principles, skills, and attitudes needed to give
nursing care and prevent the spread of disease. Procedures used in the care of the
sick and the ability to adapt them to various situations are discussed. Students will
learn to document their observations and interventions.
