Russellville’s Aquatic Center and Bona Dea Trails are right off campus if you're looking for a swim, a jog, or cycling. If nature is your thing, hiking trails and kayaking waterways are only minutes away within the vast Ozark National Forest and state parks in addition to water activities on Lake Dardanelle. And ATU provides free outdoor equipment rentals to students.
So many activities, so much to see and so much to do. Slowing down might be a challenge. But when it’s finally time to relax, you can unwind at one of more than 30 area restaurants that offer discounts to Arkansas Tech students. With a movie theater, dining of every variety, a vibrant downtown area and the comforting feel of a small town, Russellville can help you find some rest within your busy student schedule. And then there’s always the hammock and a good book, beckoning from the shade.
NEW ON CAMPUS
Bird scooters are the fun, environmentally sustainable way to navigate the Arkansas Tech University campus. Since making its debut at Tech in September 2018, Bird has been the exclusive provider of dockless, low-speed scooters for ATU students. Download the Bird app, put on your helmet and let’s ride!

Becoming a scholar at Arkansas Tech University also means becoming part of the team and a caring member of the community. With more than 172 opportunities for you to get involved in clubs and within the community, what kind of impact can you make on your team, in your community, and on the world?
WAYS TO GET INVOLVED
Volunteering is central to Arkansas Tech, and our students give back in a big way. Many students volunteering through a club or organization, but there are also several campus-wide service drives and volunteer events.
FRATERNITIES & SORORITIES
Fraternity and Sorority Life at Arkansas Tech includes 15 different chapters for students.
Regardless of the chapter, the ATU fraternities and sororities all focus on leadership,
scholarship, and service.
STUDENT ACTIVITIES BOARD
The Student Activities Board at Arkansas Tech keeps students busy. Each semester, this group of volunteers plans multiple campus events. Some of the free events they provide to students include movie nights, paint wars, tailgates and more.
Intramural sports is one of the largest campus opportunities at Arkansas Tech. The
program provides competitive and recreational leagues. This fall students can select
from competition in nearly a dozen sports.
The spirit squads at spread school spirit at football, basketball and volleyball games throughout the year. Additionally, the cheerleaders and Golden Girls are ambassadors for Arkansas Tech and represent the campus throughout the community.
The Arkansas Tech band has a more than 100-year history at Arkansas Tech. The over
200-member marching band is just one several ensembles available, and many students
choose to participate in multiple ensembles.
FAITH & MINISTRY
Students can stay rooted in their faith while attending classes at Arkansas Tech. Arkansas Tech students can choose from over 20 faith-based organizations. Student organizations are available for several religions and denominations.
On Track is a program developed at Arkansas Tech and is designed to enhance student
development beyond the classroom. Students complete various tracks to enhance skills
covered in the classroom.
ACADEMIC INTEREST GROUPS
More than 100 clubs are available for students looking to get involved in their major. Academic interest group organizations give students the chance to connect with other students and build a professional network for after graduation.
