BIOL 5064: Evolutionary Biology
Prerequisite: Graduate standing
This course focuses upon the principles and major concepts in evolutionary biology
from a historical and contemporary viewpoint. Morphological and molecular evolution,
population genetics, systematics, the fossil record, a history of life on earth, macroevolution,
adaptation, and applications to species conservation are among the topics examined
in the course. Laboratory exercises include analysis of populations and species with
molecular techniques, computer investigations, and internet resources.
$40 laboratory fee.
