English & World Languages Exit Interviews Each Semester

All graduating students are asked to complete an exit interview on which they detail their future plans, their evaluation of the program’s strengths and weaknesses, suggestions for improvement, and a self-evaluation of their improvement in the learning objective defined for each program.

The data is reviewed annually by the departmental assessment committee, recorded in Weave, and used for accreditation and program reviews.

Curriculum and Instruction AND The Center for Leadership and Learning Field Experience Evaluation Form Surveys

All undergraduate teacher preparation courses with field experiences include a field-experience evaluation form survey completed by the field-site mentor concerning the teacher candidate.

Results from these data are used by course instructors for evaluation of candidates and for examination of the course and field experience.

Curriculum and Instruction AND The Center for Leadership and Learning Exit Competency Survey

Candidates complete the Exit Competency Survey in the respective initial teacher licensure programs following internship. The survey is used to determine their perceived attainment of Teacher Excellence Support System (TESS) and InTASC standards as well as COE and C & I Standards.

These data are then used for candidate evaluation, program review, and improvement.

Mentors/Supervisors complete the Survey for those Supervising Interns for students participating in all initial licensure programs (MAT, MTLL-NTL, SEED, MLED, and ELED) concerning the attainment of TESS and InTASC standards as well as COE Standards for initial teaching licensure preparation.

These data are collected at the end of their respective student internship experiences and are then used for evaluation, program review, and improvement.

The Program Evaluation Survey is completed each semester by various supervisors to evaluate the effectiveness of the teacher preparation programs based upon the various factors involving the internship experience, stakeholders involved, and preparation of the students within the program. It is completed at the end of the internship experience. The Curriculum and Instruction Department then uses these data to examine administrative and curricular aspects of the various initial licensure preparation programs.

Graduate programs in Curriculum and Instruction and the Center for Leadership and Learning administer surveys completed by supervisors of the candidates practicum experience.

These are completed each semester and are used for program review, improvement, and candidate evaluation.

Norman Career Services First-Destination Survey Every graduation: Spring, Summer, & Fall (via email and card pick-up days) The ATU First-Destination Survey captures information regarding how ATU college graduates fare in their careers within six months of graduation. The graduation initiative provides clear, concise, and consistent data on the outcomes associated with the graduates college education which can be compared on a national scale. In addition to providing outcomes for graduation groups, the First-Destination Survey is designed to provide trends data over time to inform the discussion about the value of higher education. *Data is available to the entire university by request to the office of Norman Career Services. *Data is automatically sent out to Department Deans and Heads.

17 Surveys throughout each academic school year (Post Career Fair Survey - via email)

The ATU Employer Satisfaction Survey is sent to employers at the conclusion of each career fair capturing the overall experience with the event itself, students, faculty, and career services staff. *Data is available to the entire university upon request to the office of Norman Career Services.

Student Support Services (SSS) SSS Entrance Assessment

At the beginning of every semester when a new student enters the program.

Method: Paper Survey

SSS Entrance Assessment collects data about SSS student’s when they first get admitted to the program to see where they are at with an understanding of Career, Academic, and Financial Information and resources.

Student Support Services (SSS) SSS Exit Assessment

At the end of every semester when a student is graduating from the university

Method: Online Survey or paper survey

SSS Exit Assessment collects data about SSS student’s right before graduation with their bachelor degree. This is used to make sure that they have a clear understanding of Career, Academic, and Financial information and resources to be successful after graduation.

Student Support Services (SSS) SSS Needs Assessment Before the individual interview as part of the application process for the TRIO SSS Program. Completed in Fall, Spring, and Summer.

SSS Needs Assessment is used verify areas of academic, personal, financial, and technological deficiency in applicants. This is used to understand what areas SSS staff could assist students to help them be successful in college. It asks about skills, obstacles, areas where they need assistance and computer literacy.

SSS Program Evaluation is used to collect demographic information from the students as well as their overall satisfaction of our services. This survey focuses on:

The SSS staff members and office environment
Components of the SSS program, such as, tutoring, academic advising, career advising, financial aid help, workshops, financial literacy and our website/facebook.
What kinds of workshops and financial literacy would be useful to them in the future?
What are the strengths and what assistance was most helpful.

SSS Workshop Evaluation is used to collect data about the student satisfaction and knowledge gained from attending the workshop. The survey focuses on:

Why they attended the workshop and how helpful/informative it was
What they learned and what techniques they can use to improve their success in college
The strengths and weaknesses of the workshop.

College Student Personnel Advising Survey

The advising survey conducted by the Department of College Student Personnel is an annual survey used to assess the students’ needs, concerns and of students in the program. This survey also seeks information regarding their advising experience and solicits ideas for possible electives for the upcoming year.

 

CSP uses this data for our program assessment and program review. 

Residence Life ACUHO-I/Benchworks - Resident Assessment Every year during the spring semester (2019, 2020, 2021, ...)

"Developed in partnership with ACUHO-I, the suite consists of three assessments, designed to measure the impact of the residence life experience on CAS Standards-based learning outcomes. The ACUHO-I/Benchworks suite leverages almost 20 years of research and includes Resident, Apartment, and Student Staff assessments."

"ACREO is a student survey designed to help institutions assess the efficacy of their residential programs.  Based on Astin’s (1993) I-E-O model, ACREO measures a range of items to capture students’ input characteristics and environmental experiences (e.g. residential events, academic decisions and behaviors.)"

Residence Life Residence Life Renewal Survey - Internal Beginning spring 2019. After the housing renewal process, typically February/March.

This survey is given to all residential students who do not renew their housing contract for the next academic year. The survey is split into groups: those who are returning to ATU and those who are not. To help determine quality of life and decision to leave residence life.

NSSE annually collects information at hundreds of four-year colleges and universities about first-year and senior students' participation in programs and activities that institutions provide for their learning and personal development.”

“The Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE) was designed to complement the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), which is administered to undergraduate students. This instructional staff version (for faculty, instructors, and graduate students who teach) focuses on:

  • Instructional staff perceptions of how often students engage in different activities.
  • The importance instructional staff place on various areas of learning and development.
  • The nature and frequency of instructional staff-student interactions.
  • How instructional staff organize their time, both in and out of the classroom.”

American College Health Association- National College Health Assessment

The ACHA-National College Health Assessment (NCHA) is a nationally recognized research survey that can assist you in collecting precise data about your students’ health habits, behaviors, and perceptions.
